Friday, October 4th All Beef Feeder Cattle Sale

This past Friday, October 4th, we sold 2,056 cattle. We had a good run of fancy, green yearlings (1,636) coming off grass and ready to head to finishing yards.  As the yearling numbers start to dwindle, we will begin to see the new crop calves in full force during the up coming weeks.  The new crop calves (420) sold well considering mother nature continues to wreck havoc with this wet weather and we need to get crops in and bedding made.

When making your marketing decisions, we would highly recommend keeping an eye on this weather, the harvest and the bedding situation when trying to pick the best time frame to market New Crop Calves.  When the conditions of these elements become more stable and nearly complete, it is then the right time to start looking at marketing times.  Let's hope that is coming sooner than later.
