Results from the Special "Back to Grass" Roundup New Crop Beef Calf/ Yearling Sale Friday March 2nd.

Here this past Friday we had a good run of nice quality cattle selling 2,508 cattle on a market that was steady to lower on most cattle..

The market is still dang good accordingly but for the first time this winter we really noticed that the cattle have picked up alot of flesh condition and dirt, especially on the big cattle. Between flesh, dirt and a deferred fed futures market it was the big cattle that took the bigger discount..

The grass demand is still in full swing but I can tell in the entire mix of the sale that we have placed a pile of the green, lightweight short yearling cattle..

We saw the first of the fall born new crop calves which sold well but the best demand remains in the greener, bigger bunches of short yearling grass cattle of high quality..

We also featured some big strings of the best reputation cattle in the Tri State Region that remained in really good demand..

With a combination of all I can tell spring is peeking at us right around the corner .. Things look good moving forward as long as we can keep this Fed Cattle Market on fairly stable ground..

Thanks to all Buyers/Sellers alike who came together to round out yet another nice sale loaded with good cattle which were sold across the entire country..

The next Special "Back to Grass" Roundup New Crop Calf/ Yearling Sale will be in two weeks Friday March 16th starting time 9am sharp..

This coming Friday March 9th will be our Special Early Spring Roundup Holstein/Dairy Cross Feeder Cattle Sale starting time 9am sharp

This coming Saturday March 10th will be our Special Spring Bred Beef Cow/Heifer Sale starting time 11am with Weigh up Cows and Bred Cows/Heifers at 12 Noon sharp..
